Quirky Farm Bistro

An independent Bistro where they concentrate on homecooked, good old-fashioned food.

Beautifully presented food in glorious surroundings, this Bistro right in the heart of Harrogate is a must to visit for breakfast.

A substantial menu to cater for all tastes and dietary requirements. The chef particularly recommends Nutella Filled Pink Pancakes for a true treat.

Betty’s Cafe Tea Rooms

1 Parliament St, Harrogate HG1 2QU

It wouldn’t be right to do a Best Breakfast in Harrogate round up and not include Betty’s Cafe and Tea Rooms. We have made Betty’s part of our visits to Harrogate for many years for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea.

Betty’s is synonymous with the quintessential British cafe experience. The waiter outfits are quaint and old fashioned and the service is very proper.

The food is always hot, neatly presented and great tasting. You are definitely talking fine china teacups here rather than a mug of steaming hot Yorkshire Tea!

The trick to Betty’s is to queue early. Smaller groups may get to go inside quicker than large groups. Try to ask for a window seat when you get in as this makes the experience even nicer.

Prices are slightly higher than most cafes which is to be expected because of the name. The Imperial Breakfast is a great addition to the Betty’s breakfast menu and a great way of experiencing more food choices.

Open 7 days per week from 9am.

Visit the Betty’s Cafe and Tea Rooms website for full menu details.

Tilly Peppers

49 Cold Bath Rd, Harrogate HG2 0NL

A fairly new addition to the Harrogate cafe scene but rising in popularity all the time.

The food is presented beautifully and portions are generous. You must try the Eggs Florentine Royale! If you are looking for something a little different to the norm, avocado with halloumi and chilli jam is a brilliant way to start your day.

Service is brilliant, friendly and welcoming – Dogs are welcome too.

Open 7 days per week from 8.30am (9am Sundays)

Visit the Tilly Peppers’ Instagram feed for more information.

The Wild Plum

34-36 Hookstone Rd, Harrogate HG2 8BW

This perfectly cute venue placed within The Snooty Frox boutique, is really something special and different. Specialising in breakfasts and brunches, this is the perfect place to start your day, whether you are into retail therapy or not.

The Wild Plum pride themselves on using seasonal ingredients from local suppliers so their menu changes regularly to reflect this. Choose from many light dishes and sweet options – all presented impeccably.

The menu reflects palates from around the world with the Lebanese breakfast and asian influences both being seen. Or you can simply go for the Cheese and marmite Loaf!

This is a real statement venue for breakfast in Harrogate – perfect for your instagram feed!

Visit The Wild Plum’s website for this month’s breakfast menu.

Hoxton North

1A Royal Parade, Harrogate HG1 2SZ

You can’t get much more central than this Harrogate cafe. A really popular place to enjoy breakfast in Harrogate town centre so be prepared to wait for a table if you haven’t pre booked but it will be worth it.

The service is excellent and so efficient. Ingredients are fresh and locally sources with a specials menu available too. Vegetarian and vegan options also available.

The all day breakfast and brunch menu is large and varied – Every combination of breakfast items you can think of plus an extensive drinks menu too. My girls particularly enjoy the Iced Coffees.

Open 7 days a week from 8.30am (9am weekends).

5, Sunwin House, Albert St, Harrogate HG1 1JU

We don’t often feature chain restaurants in our Best Breakfast by Location series but Cote offers something rather special.

A delightful venue with a lovely menu. You can choose between the Cote Full English Breakfast, French Toast Stacks with a selection of fillings or try the Breakfast Cassoulet for something a bit unusual for Harrogate.

Breakfast Aperitifs are completely acceptable at Cote so go for it!
